Cricket : The fashion Vs. passion

Sehwag got married. India wins the series. Zimbawae notched the credential of lowest scoring nation in the One-Day crickting history with 35 runs against Sri Lanka. Lara hits 400 runs got whole lot of criticism for playing 3 days. News. News and News about cricket. You can find everywhere. I speak cricket invariably everyday.

But when it comes to playing, i havent touched the bat for almost 3 years. Just watching cricket and analysing that. The day has come from just lipservcing, fashion talk cricket to passionate cricket playing on the field. Somehow, once i moved into the apartment i lost the moment of playing cricket.

Cricket is one good game when played than watching. It regenerates the passion inside you, the team spirit and the willingness to work in a team goes up. When Viji (the same LIC fellow) was here on saturday (May 1st), we were casually talking about so many things and ended up with why not playing cricket, it's been ages since we played. As an organiser, i have quickly organised people, and we opted for Viji's house "mottai madi" to be the pitch of the series.

Blow No.1 : The first guy we organised was sankara and we found that the guy dint turn up ( He sacked the match in lieu of "Arul" - Vikram's movie, and came back yesterday to say he missed the cricket, and the movie turns to be a utter flop movie)
So we are only 3 people, myself, viji and one of his tenant's son, so we called up Babu (the joke is that babu's house is exactly behind viji's house and they live in 2 parallel streets) the count moved on to 4 , few small kids and we started the match ...

4 overs to each and no runs..boundary out ..under arm action allowed....no one pitch catch....no lbws...and it turned out to be the most exciting hrs we spent. The same stuff followed on sunday also, with rainy clouds frightening us in canceling the game...but as a true passionate team..we havent' given up, when it was drizzling.....we played non-stop for 5 hrs. starting from 3PM to 7 PM......

and btw, i dint lost the touch in total i have played around 46 overs in two days and was not bowled once....with ony 2 lifes' to spare (One in slip and the other one is a dropped keeper's catch) and that makes me proud, that if you are passionate on something, time doesn't really matter, at any age, any time, anywhere, you can chase the passion.

Life is afterall worth 60 years...out of which we all have considerably spent 50% already, why not waste the remaining years in search of things which is not going to come with us...Old age is all about great nostalgia, what if , if we have old age without any rememberable thing to do....

btw, saras is off to bangalore with sify team...enjoying life :-)
