B2C - Back 2 Chennai

Back 2 Chennai(B2C). Sorry Aravind. Couldn't call you or meet you. Was engaged in the whole day with back-to-back meetings at Airport Road. Btw, there is a clean tongue-n-cheek, acronym which reflects the state. When i say Back 2 chennai it is B2C where as when you say Back 2 Bangalore, it is B2B, In a country like India, B2B provides more revenue than B2C, but eventually, everyone has to come in terms with B2C to survive. No pun intended.

I contradict the statement made by Aravind here. I accept, it is one of the best cities in terms of IT & and other new economy companies. But knowledge was imported inside the city. It can be called as the Knowledge Acquisition City than a mere Knowledge city. Still i believe, Chennai & rest of TN has more knowledge share when compared to other cities in this country. Btw, i dont know much about Karnataka here, so beyond Bang, my knowledge of the state is less.

The post is not about what i did in bangalore but what i observe in bangalore. My last visit to bangalore was 2 years before, if i guess it rite. There are drastic changes in the city. When i was there yesterday, there is new link connecting road to Indira Nagar from MG road was opened for public. The city grown like anything. Skycrapers, designer restaurents, and surprisinly, i have come across only 3 places where i see the Reliance Ad. B2C, our hoardings are full with Reliance. There the ads are more for shopping & retail, that clearly reflects the buying potential of the inmates of the city.

In a decade, the city is transformed into a global metropolis. On my car, i was just counting the no. of HQs in the city, Apple. Hughes Software, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Intel, Infosys, Daimler Chrysler and what not. Every office is spanky, lavishly built with huge parking spaces. I have seen more 4 wheelers than 2 wheelers inside these parking lots. The commercial street is full of lifestyle items. Haven't seen a begger inside commercial street. Hats off to Mr. SM Krishna, the man truly revolutinised a city into a global metropolis. More foreign faces, Wi-Fi access and everyone on car, on restaurent, on bus works with their laptops. With a reliance connection (they buy specifically for this) they see mails, chat and upload & download stuff. Truly, if you are a technoprenuer Bangalore is the place to be.

But, still i can see Kannadas with the same old sober, lathargic, expression-less face and just time killing the process. Bangalore, somehow, in my viewpoint, has lost his traditional touch, and behaving more like mumbai, more patels, mehtas, chatterjees, singhs, mukerjees and so on....truly a city to watch for, if not to live on. Bangalore has changed ...is the bangalorians changed?
