"Code"-a archanai
It's great word being repeated billions of time worldwide, the knowledge country for the world, the coding paradise and a bunch of brilliant programmers, that's India. this report, by Wired Magazine, takes the issue further and says the new face of sillicon age lies in the streets of bangalore, hydrabad, mumbai, chennai, pune. You may get a component build for .net, when you finish your 2.50 paise tea at the cornor stall of the street. You get an entire application reverse engineered, before you wipe your hand on the towel, after your lunch.
How american's being beaten square and near in their own turf, is the big issue today. America is not crying fool to get their programmers back, but it is their frustration of something what they invented [computers, programmes, OS, applications] is now taking it biggest toll on them.
In the intervu, take this excerpt:
"When I ask what her advice is for a beleaguered American programmer afraid of being pulled under by the global tide that she represents, Jairam takes the high road, neither dismissing the concern nor offering soothing happy talk. Instead, she recites a portion of the 2,000-year-old epic poem and Hindu holy book the Bhagavad Gita: "Do what you're supposed to do. And don't worry about the fruits. They'll come on their own."
This is a story about the global economy. It's about two countries and one profession - and how weirdly upside down the future has begun to look from opposite sides of the globe. It's about code and the people who write it. But it's also about free markets, new politics, and ancient wisdom - which means it's ultimately about faith."
So that makes the point straight, a new world order is required, where we need to look upon everyone is equal. The mistake America did 25 years before, is not taking a heavy price. Unlike other industries, this industry is a knowledge based industry. So, India is also not safe in the long run. If china or any south east asian country tries to perfect the art of coding, they will perfect it in another 10 - 15 years, by the time, may be we will be having our own plaggards in hindi & english and will scream "dont move the jobs to Haiti, or srilanka" so beware.
Till then read this piece and tell your priest in your nearest temple to recite the mantras in EJB.Wired 12.02: The New Face of the Silicon Age
