Fighting corruption - an initiative

Hey all

I came across this interesting initiative rather a group or forum in rediff couple of days back. Its about fighting corruption in a collective manner. It was interstingly started by our own chennai guy the founder of Exnora.

http://5thpillar.org/

Its very interesting and gives me a ray of hope, take your time going through their website and you can also become a member of this group and join hands fighting the corruption and any grievance.

Let me know your views.

Scene Balaji and the Uncle Nehru within him

Although the title of this post seem to be on the lighter side, I was really impressed by this picture of our scene machan. Our -The Practical man has practically made the poor children happy for that few moments by posing along with them.

A very expressive picture indeed.

Balaji - sorry to link this picture from your personal album

An Appeal

I have been in stealth mode working with a small NGO for last one year based out of Kancheepuram. These people are not your Banyan or Uduthavum Karangal or with other cinestar studded, hype drive, media specific, silk-saree socialist kinda team. These people are working genuinely under the rader, for the people. Their main objective is to "education" orphans, disparate children and child labors.

Last year, to beat my own trumpet, i personally rescued about 3 girls from child laboring. This year they have a requirement of about Rs.11,000 for 2 kids to be rescued. I am taking up the responsibility for rescuing them this time too. Can we guys pitch in to raise 11K to get few faceless children go to school ?

She's grown...growing..she's now 3 months old

As opposed to Narain's wish in one of his comments, my daughter looks more like me as I was that age...cute, lots of scalp hair, brilliant :))

Just uploaded the latest pictures of Sindhu. She's now 3 months old, view the album here >

Sabai's Outbound Trip 2007

Another quick one...

After quite some time, we managed to go for a trip again down ECR minus nightstay since our valued member Gnana objected to nightouts citing marital reasons :)

On our way we dropped into Dakshinachitra and my camera eyes found it very interesting and could not resist my temptation of shooting 100s of pics using Gnana's new D50 digital camera.

Here is the album-

I leave it to our creatives narain and gnana to post detailed info on our latest trip.

cheers.

Keep it Live

Just a quick post...I was shocked to find out that the last post was about our Mamalla Resort trip in 2005 while infact we have completed 2 other trips after that and more memorable events that happened like Gnana's wedding in 2005 and my wedding in 2006. Whats more, I am also a proud Appa for a angel daughter named Sindhu.

Few pics of my daughter -

The longest silence

Just looking at the last post posted on Aug.24, 2005, this should be the most silent blog in the entire Google blogger account for a long time i guess. A period of ONE YEAR, 7 MONTHS AND 12 DAYS and looking at it, it just whisked away like a dream. Lot many things have happened in between.

Based on the order, 2 of the team mates got married and one became a father too. A guy who was driving an "ottai" TVS Champ is now thinking in million dollar transactions. An hardcore spiritual follower now quits smoking and become an occasional drinker. An oh-so simple guy, is heading a company's technology division and working on his own dreams. Ivlo mari irukku. ana vazhakkam pola, Aravindan perusa maralai ;) [Next time, madras vandha naan kandipa pakkaren boss, neraya pesanum ] The "next time" is like an utopian dream and never came at all till.

It is good to see the team went on different directions, to try the experiences the life has to offer. What was started as a "dont care, care free" bunch of people, actually becoming serious about their life, career, ambitions, goals and achievements and trying to make a difference in their own little way to themselves and to the society as a whole.

Last week's Dakshinachitra trip was a breath of fresh air from our pre determined, pre conditioned life style we opted to choose in a long long time. I don't want to write more [2 project proposals are pending in my inbox, nkotha puthiya kamichutae illai nee busy-nu ;) ] I have sent fresh invites because of blogger's policy, and keep this blog resurrected from his deadly past.

Come on guys, we may not leave a great fortune for our next generation, while we ourselves are struggling to build a big fortune for ourselves but we can certainly leave a legacy of "time captured" information for us to munch in our olden days or atleast to make our next generation learn from the mistakes we are doing and about to do!
