Starting from Alsa Mall, we moved towards the same route looking out for a HDFC bank ATM. What i could relate now is that there is a ATM in mount road itself at ITC Towers, but we all forgot and searching for it all around cenatoph road, adayar and finally Saras smartly landed up one ATM at Adyar near vannanthundurai. I took cash and the spending started. We bought 2 water bottles, 500 gms, Chips @ Hot Chips and whole bunch of other
eateries at Kottivakkam Food World. To start the eating, Myself & Herbert shared a Hecks Bottled beer [of course it is non-alcholic....i had to taste a alcholic stuff in the tour that will come later] and sitting in the driver's seat, saras driving at full throttle. [ Great Escape, 2fast 2furious was not opened, before we started off to pondy. If we would have seen that, we would have been driven differently!!!!] Paid the toll and stopped thrice on our way.
Surprisingly, this is the first time, Herbert is coming to Pondy [ He narrated his prev. experience of coming to Pondy for a marriage, well it is like a school exercusion....get into the van, attend the marriage, eat the food, bless the couple, back to van and bang u r in chennai again] so, we both having previous experiences [Seniors:-)] with pondy started talking about pondy, politics and a whole lot of useless things. But the scenery was wonderful as usual, we took a few snaps on our way. It was scenic, pleasant, chill and great. At times, we feel like travelling on a country side of some english or US road, of course the drought-driven fields, will made me to come back to reality, that i am still living & travelling in India. We have entered into pondy by 7.15 and the game started here. We forgot the hotel we stayed last time. Not just the direction to the hotel, but the name of the hotel itself was out of our memory. Now the chakkar started to roll out measuring the streets of Pondy. Herbert is having a great sight seeing. At last, we found the hotel after 15-20 min. rounds, afterall, Pondy is only made up of 8-10 streets. In a bit of poetic paradox, when the sooriyan sets out, we step into sooriya ...grr tht's the name of the hotel, which we forgot.
Like everytime, I enquired and this time, Herbi joined me for seeing the rooms. Unfortunately, the block which we stayed [Gnana knows about it] last time was fully booked and we gotta spare a room on the annexe, after seeing a few rooms [Who is that girl wearing Red Nightie with the guy, I dont think they are legitimate couples.....maybe we missed a chance whole nite?] and finally settle down [ quarter-heartedly] for a 3 bedroom room. On entering the room itself, Saras dont liked it. of courz, we all. But the issue is it is already 8.20 and we were tired [ i m not....i dint drive anyway] and want to check in faster and have a drink. Afterall, who will go to pondicherry without having a sip of drink. Once settled, and relaxed a bit, we started out for a walk to buy drinks, snacks and other stuff. we thought of having something nearby, but to our surprise, we haven't seen a single wine shop and the walk has started to find a wineshop...
